Or EA whose CEO recently cried uncle to Nintendo on Wii - create an 'opening' for EA in their release schedule so they can find success - how pathetic. And their best selling Wii game - a Wii Fit knock off...... I'm sure this will be a day-one purchase for Steer - Poster ‘Y’ As I pointed out - everything in this topic is false - a non Nintendo gamer, a game Nintendo has not hyped at all, and no evidence of ‘dramatic’ Wii sales declines. Top it off with a mocking statement toward myself. What is the point of a topic like this? To make fun of young kids who might want this game? That will show them. Threatened much?

My anti-Nintendo act got old which is why I have bitten my lip (for the most part) over the last year or so...please do the same. I noticed you stopped posting the NPD monthly numbers once the Wii was being outsold by other consoles and the BiG N was selling a whopping 10,000 units monthly.
Yeah - this never happened….hell he is only off by a several hundred thousand units - was the 360 selling 250 unuits a month at this time? Give me a break.
Want more Paul - how long do you want this topic to go on? Care to mod Cataclysm for trolling and fanboyism?
Could you please speed things along with showing us your comprehensive list of how we all hate Nintendo.

Please read my original post and show where you find that? It is not there.
This topic is an irony topic - that some here can be such consistent fanboys and trolls that they still see doom and gloom for Nintendo despite all evidency to extreme contrary. A collection of 'Bagdhad Bob's' - "there is no invasion - what invasion?"
Do not get so smug when you are not even in the right topic. I am harsh today, but many here deserve it for their outrageous behavior.
People asked me for my post and I have provided them - so then the argument switches form 'there is no such posts' to 'those posts are your fault'. I never said there was a board wide conspiracy, just a collection of a few bad apples that come here and troll - read my inital reply to Steve where I said this topic was not for him.

Steer, no one here hates Nintendo. For Christ's sake, we're all gamers. What I do hate is holier than though attitudes. It's as if your horse is winning a race and you have to be so damn smug about it. I'm enjoying the race and even like the same horse you do, but really, no one cares that it's the fastest or the prettiest, or eats the most compared to the other horses. You come across as obnoxious and it's constant. It's almost as if you truly are invested in Nintendo and are trying to short Sony and Microsoft to make a few extra dollars.
*obviously, I know squat about horses so forgive the goofy metaphor.

May I politely ask who this topic is aimed at? Would you care to name specific people on this board who see "doom and gloom" for Nintendo?
I think these boards are, in fact, very pro Nintendo given that this is first and foremost a Classic Gaming Site. Most people come here to discuss their love of games in general and many have been gaming through the ages. All the systems that are on the left hand side of this site are generally enjoyed by most folks here. Even dud systems like the Jaguar, 3DO and Virtual Boy all have their fans. I don't read every single post, but I check this site out almost daily and I really don't see a negative slant towards Nintendo in any way.

Well I read a lot on these boards the last 3 years - it will not let up - about 'Wii Fad', 'Wii Doomed', 'Wii Fail', 'Wii Plumment'.
This topic was not directed at you - this topic is for ppl who write 'wii is doomed!" in the face of all evidence to the contrary, and then I see 'ps3 lost almost 5 billion in 3 years' = where is the logic?
There is ONE person who has stated this kind of stuff, and that person hasn't done so regularly for a while. Your topic had no legs to stand on. We asked you to cite all these threads that supported your contention that this board "won't let up" with the anti-Wii threads, and you could only cite the previously mentioned poster in one other thread. That's not a list. If you could have come up with one you wouldn't have ignored our requests for so long, as you're usually pretty eager to prove people wrong.
Maybe the problem you have is that you have no sense of humor, or ability to enjoy anything on this board. For instance, someone asks you to make a hypothetical wishlist, where you're supposed to have fun discussing things that are outside the realm of possibility. So what do you say? I do not need a hypothetical list. Luke makes a post about some ridiculous Wii attachment, and you come in and post NPD numbers. Banjo mentioned the PS3 price cut and how it probably won't affect the console war, and somehow you felt like you needed to jump in with yet more NPD numbers to make sure everyone knew the Wii was still outselling the PS3. And in threads you do try to have fun with, like the DSi XL topic, you usually end up getting defensive towards someone else. |

I honestly saw on some website the Wii selling about 10,000 units a week in Japan (not monthly like I typed) but can't find it anywhere. What I did find was about 25,000 units a week which I guess is pretty good. |

I am not going to address these 1000's of posts, it is too much to do.
One thing you notice about me I simply give as good as I get. I say if you make a claim you should be able to back it up. I have a great sense of humour by the way but it runs toward the ironic. Do you not see the humour of the topic title? No one laughed at that I noticed.
Also this topic is relevant no matter what - this PS3/360 situation is very relevant and continues to grow more interesting.

I don't think Steer is a big Nintendo fan as much as he is a big Wii fan (I still remember the thread in which he argued that the Wii had a better first year library than the SNES), and there's definitely a difference. As for the anti-Nintendo slant from others, I think things have gotten better from how they were before when guys like Alienblue (or maybe it was the other Alien guy) would bring up their resentment towards Nintendo and the influence they had on the course of gaming.
That being said, if it's okay for folks around here to be crazy about the Dreamcast (which I believe gets overrated because of the "Firefly" effect), then it should be okay for Steer to be crazy about the Wii. The only difference is that the Wii is not the underdog (except technologically, I suppose), so if it annoys folks that Steer is using the Wii's success to support his high opinion of the console (just as he might use PS3/360 struggles to support his low opinion of those consoles and/or the marketing strategies for them), then it's really on you guys to seperate fact from opinion. A lot of people feel that when all is said and done, Wii may go down as one of Nintendo's less memorable consoles, and from a certain point of view, sales figures won't mean squat to that conclusion.
So while it's somewhat entertaining seeing people argue with Steer and get nowhere because they're trying to attack his motives, you guys are your own worst enemies on this one, as Steer can question your own motives just the same. If you disagree with him, then either dispute his reasoning or ignore his post.

I agree with megavolt, especially on the last part, getting hostile over a half-year dead forum post is like playing hide and seek with a dead fly, noone who has a normal sense of establishment would give the time to research an old matter so trivial. |
